Aimiee over at And We’re Off Too… Very nicely awarded me the Versatile Blogger Award
In the spirit of the Award I will show off my versatility by posting on a Wednesday!
Aimiee has a great blog that chronicles the adventures of her family as they go off to new places!
You can find her at http://www.andweareoffto.blogspot.com/
To formally accept this award you are asked to do a few things:
First thank and link to the blogger who gave you the award (That was easy!)
Share 7 things about yourself
Share this Award with 15 other bloggers – well in the spirit of being Versatile, I would like to give this award to 8 blogs that I really enjoy!
Life’s Twisted Stitches
Coffee Lovin Mom
Karen Dawkins
Kinderpendent
Life As 5
My 3 Little Birds
Artsy Nina
Tootie Foodie
Now for the 7 things about me:
- I love Law and Order and watch it whenever I can.
- This is embarrassing to admit but I love to read Danielle Steele novels. My husband buys me them on Mothers Day and on Super Bowl Sunday. I usually am to embarrassed to buy them for myself.
- As a child I had two gerbils, one killed himself by eating a cedar chip, the other one hung himself on the hamster wheel we bought to console him on his loss. (you can’t make this stuff up!)
- I love the Carpenters, Broadway musicals and all radio stations that play “Lite” music. My husband calls it W I M P wimp radio.
- My husband and I got engaged on Valentines day 1992.
- I hate the beach.
- I did not get my drivers licence till I was 35. ( I lived in the city for 14 years so I never needed it and I had a death fear of driving. Once I had my son and we moved to the suburbs I had to learn. I took 30 driving lessons and never drove with my husband till after I got my license. This was advice my father-in-law gave. Apparently one of the worst fights he ever had with Joe’s mother was when he taught her to drive!)
Thanks again to Aimee and to all who read and follow my blog. I really appreciate the support and am having so much fun! Thank you!

In the spirit of confessions about gerbils … as a child I had two gerbils, one male and one female. Then I had about 20. I forgot to feed them for about a week and then I only had 7 ..
Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy your blog!

thank you! I too, am a Law & Order addict. It began in college, and now that I’m a sahm, it’s my absolute favorite thing on tv. I get mad when it’s a House marathon day.

Congratulations!! Well deserved. Poor gerbils!! That must have been traumatic!

You’re so versatile 😉 Thank you for the shout out!
And who cares if you read Daniel Steele? hehehe I used to be addicted to historical romance, or as I call them – SMUT BOOKS. I think I read every piece of smut available from 97-00. LOL Now I only enjoy an easy read like that if I’m lounging at the cabin.

Thanks everyone for the sweet and funny comments! What fun to wake up to!
Thea you had me laughing with the 20 gerbils down to 7! Alexandra, I too hate it when they run a marathon and don’t show my beloved show!
I love that we got engaged on Valentines day because it always gives us something extra to celebrate that day. But, you can see just how creative we are, it is pretty cheesy to get engaged on that day!
Nina I have not tried the historical romance novels yet, maybe I will have to try it, but I won’t admit it since I already humilated myself with the Danielle Steele novels!
On the topic of novels, Samantha of The Slight Detour has her own novel comming out in August! She also has a wonderful blog that you all should check out. You can find her link on the side of my blog on “My Blog List”!
Thanks everyone!

I had a hamster named Gus Gus. He got a tumor and I had to put him to sleep. I wasn’t a child though, it was just a few years ago! lol
Thanks so much, and congrats!

Congratulations on your award! That’s so sad and somewhat sweet about your hamsters. I didn’t realize hamsters had such emotions for each other.
I had a suicidal beta fish once. He kept jumping to a ledge out of the water and could easily have wiggled down, but wouldn’t! One day we forgot to check on him. We didn’t get another beta fish after that.

Congrats on your award!
I used to love Danielle Steel novels until they all started to have basically the same plots.

Congrats my friend! Funny about the Gerbils. That must have been horrible to see as a child. Crazy story … My husband had a hamster named Buford as a kid. He bought it a friend (Buford#2) and Buford #1 ate Buford #2’s head off the next day. (gosh, I hope your kids aren’t reading this) Anyways, he ended up throwing Buford#2 out in the snow as a punishment. Moral of the story. Get a cat. 😉

I think everyone deserves a wonderful “fluffy” read every now and then! I’ve actually never read Danielle Steel and for being an English major, I’ve read a surprising amount of fluff. That’s really smart that you never drove with your husband while learning. Currently, I’m trying to learn how to drive a manual with my boyfriend and it is probably not the ideal learning environment. That said, my ex-boyfriend taught me to drive and that actually went well, although, obviously, the relationship didn’t. . . Hmmmm . . .

So lovely of you to visit me at sixtyfivewhatnow and leaving me a way to reach you. I come at the right time, a time for a party and celebration, right?
Anyway, glad to meet you and congratulations on your award.

Congrats on your award. I confess that I am a Danielle Steele reader too.
Even worse sometimes I will watch a Steele movie on lifetime TV but only if no one is home.

Hi Kathy, We have two Ferrets, the one I sucked up in the shop van while cleaning the cage (she loved it.) When I vacumn now she will stand in front of it and jump on it, go figure. The other one loves playing with our cat, the one that was in the dryer when I turned it on (very noisy), she however wasn’t very impressed. We had a garter snake in a cage on top of the Ferret”s cage, it some how got out, the Ferrets looked satisfied (yikes), poor little guy. I love our animals. I hate beaches though, and romance novels (too depressing), I’m not into fiction. Take care, Love Jodi
